Bird of the Week

Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

The top photo is a male and the bottom is a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak getting their name from their heavy conical bill.   They are considered monogamous (one male to one female) and both help build the nest.  Maybe that is why I love these birds so much!

Lure them to your feeder with black oiler sunflower seeds.  Woo them with a bird bath as they love to splash around just like Robins! They also migrate south so be sure to keep your eye out during the spring and summer.

    1. I do too! I lived in a new subdivision for awhile a few years ago with no trees! It was killer. I now have tons of trees, shrubs and flowers that many different kinds of birds love. Thanks for hosting Eco Kids Tuesday.
